" When confronted with a Goliath-sized problem, which way do you respond: He's too big to hit or, like David, He's too big to miss ?"

A little about me...

Hi! My name is Bren. I am 45 years old. I am a homemaker. Some of my hobbies and interests... crafts, internet, cooking.

Information about my illness...

In 1956, when I was 1 years old, I was diagnosed with Wilms' Tumor. I was treated at Columbus, OH. I had radiation and surgery.

My words to others...

My suggestions to other survivors are... Have faith in God, look forward and don't look back, and take one day at a time.

The most important lesson I learned from my experience is... You can't take life for granted. Each day is a blessing from God. Even though I've had to deal with cancer, I've learned to appreciate and accept it, and that I can still be an inspiration and hope to someone else who is also facing cancer.

A positive outcome from my experience is... meeting new friends who have had cancer and are also long-term survivors. It's nice to have someone to talk to who has been there many years ago like I was and understands what I'm going through now.

" Surviving cancer really makes you appreciate life and makes you realize what a miracle you really are. I just thank God for leading my parents in the decisions that they had to make when radiation was still experimental for cancer and I hope to be an inspiration to others facing cancer."
