" Some people see things as they are and ask why? I dream of things that never were and ask why not? ... Robert F. Kennedy"

A little about me...

Hi! My name is James. I am 28 years old. I am a producer and writer. Some of my hobbies and interests... are sports, movies, reading and writing.

Information about my illness...

In 1988, when I was 17 years old, I was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. I was treated at the University of Wisconsin Hospital. I had radiation, chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.

My words to others...

My suggestions to other survivors are... You can't do anything about the past so don't ask why me? You can't change the past so focus on the future. It is all you have.

The most important lesson I learned from my experience is... CANCER is a big deal but LIFE is a bigger deal.

A positive outcome from my experience is... I appreciate every day that I am alive. I see people complaining about their jobs or little things like that and it is funny to me. I think that every person will have different meaning to their life but for myself I really fell like I know the secret to life.

" Whether you are faced with a life threatening illness or not... live your life for yourself. Enjoy you life because it is the only one you have. Decide what is important to you and pursue your dreams. "
