" 'the most beautiful girl in the world' the words on lisas plaque at the hospice where she let go"

A little about me...

Hi! My name is Lisa. I am 18 years old. I am watching my friends from somewhere safe. Some of my hobbies and interests... singing.

Information about my illness...

In 1994, when I was 14 years old, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. I was treated at the UK. I had chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.

My words to others...

My suggestions to other survivors are... I was lisas friend and in that sense although lisa didnt make it i am a survivor... she asked me to live her live for her... but she lived her life while she was here... live life, life is short, lisa was the life and soul of the party she just left early.

The most important lesson I learned from my experience is... life is precious, u can live it or you can let it happen,I will never let go of my dreams or lisas dreams. i will be able to say my life was long happy and full of love just like lisa could.

A positive outcome from my experience is... I have memories of an perfect childhood and teenage life with a beautiful friend who watches over me now as i embark on adult life.

" on her 18th birthday lisa decided to stop treatment because it was life prolonging not life saving... i was sooo mad at her, i didnt know why, but she was well enough to play with her baby brother in her last few weeks and come out with her friends just two days before her death.Im sorry for being mad lisa, ill never understand the bravery it took to make that choice and smile to the end, but i thank god everyday for those last few months. You didnt give up on life... you lived it."
